Crafty Ann's Challenge # 1 - Let's Celebrate

This is the very first challenge of Crafty Ann's Challenge Blog and can be found here . It is a first for me as well as I have never had the nerve to enter any before and I do hope I have done everything correctly. This first one has the theme of 'Let's Celebrate'. Ann is a very talented lady and has created many digi stamps and backing papers which can be found on her site.

This A5 card has been produced by using The Royal Horticultural Society Collection CDROM from Joanna Sheen. This is a 3 disc set. Both the image and backing paper have come here and are from Disc 1 and is taken from the Caroline Maria Applebee section. She was born in London in 1799 and appears to have been the daughter of a wealthy middle-class family that had conservatories and greenhouses. Very little is known about Miss Applebee. It is believed she was a talented amateur artist whose work were unpublished. Her paintings feature a large range of plants, including the more rare exotic varieties of the day, that would only survive under glass. I have used Stardream card for the main card and also a contrasting colour for the matting and layering card, both have been embossed around the edges on a scoreboard. The bow is from my stash. The pearls on four corners of the topper are also from my stash and are Crystal Stickers by Mark Richards - Style # 1952 size 5mm.

3 Lyra Aquacolour cards/4 Promarkers.

Hi Folks - Had a great day yesterday but very tiring. I went to the Hobbycraft fair at Birmingham NEC with my dear friend Marianne. She is always a little angel and drives us all over the country to different fairs and workshops. I don't know what I would do without her. The following seven cards have been made with colouring with Lyra Aquacolours or Promarkers both I have bought from Joanna Sheen. I am still a novice at using the Promarkers. I usually get the best results with Cosmic Shimmer's but I think I am improving slowly with the Promarkers. All the papers used are from my stash.

This card has used the Lyra Aquacolours. The stamp is a Sugar Nellie stamp " Jingle Bells" I have used the Twinklets Diamond Dust to pick out the snow. It is the first time I have used this and I was pleased with the results. I was warned before hand by Marianne not to go to heavy handed with it though. The card is A6.

Again I have used the Lyra Aquacolour's but I have used the Sakura Glitter pens to pick out bits. The stamp is a Penny Black one " A Great Surprise!" 2623L. The card is DL.

This card is A5 in size. The images have been coloured with Promarkers this time. The stamp plates used are from Joanna Sheen. They are in the Messy Rabbit range. The church is from "Rabbit Couple Extra Bits" MR119 and the other images are from "Choirboy Rabbit" MR147.

This one again has been coloured with Promarkers and bits picked out with Sakura Glitter Pens. This is an A6 card. The stamp used is another Sugar Nellie stamp "Trimming the Tree"

Another A6 card coloured with Promarkers. Stamp is called "Christmas Kisses!" from Sugar Nellie. An A6 card.

This one has again been coloured with Lyra Aquacolours. The stamp is from Joanna Sheen and is called "Christmas Hoot" HO405. An A6 card.

This one is a lovely delicate one, again A6. It took me a time to pick out all the different bits and pieces to colour in with Promarkers and bits picked out with Sakura Glitter pens. The stamp used is "Noel Eve" SAK-FET-07 from Sarah Kay.

Seven Daisy & Dandelion Decoupage/ Three Disney Cards

Hi Folks, hope you have all been well in the six days since I last posted on my blog. The weather is still mild which unfortunatley will not help to kill all the bugs but it is nice we haven't got to have the heating on full blast.

I have been busy making cards both for sale and personal. Not sure how we will stand with posting cards but thought I had better go ahead and make them incase a miracle happens and the strike is over by the time they have to be posted.

The three cards below have been made by downloading the Disney images fromm a free site on Google. They are just outline drawings to colour in. I have used Promarkers to colour them and it is my first attempt of using them. I didn't try to do the shading being as it was the first time, I just wanted to get the feel of them. Other half said it looked like I had downloaded them coloured, not sure if he meant it as a compliment or not? I cut round the images and mounted them on to Spellbinders diecuts put through my Cuttlebug.

The seven cards below are from a Daisy & Dandelion kit I bought from QVC. They are a mixed kit. There was some nice stamps both Christmas and Birthday images. Also decoupage images on a sheet again both Christmas & Birthday. Along with peel offs. The cards below of course are easy and quick ones from the decoupage sheets.

Selection of Wedding and 21st Cards

Firstly I must say sorry for not being around for the past couple of weeks but the time has gone so fast and I have been busy visiting my Brother in law and Sister in law for a couple of days ( we always have a laugh). Secondly I have been busy making cards for a few orders I had. I hope you like the following cards.


This card was made for a customers Daughters 21st, all I was it had to be very girly and had to be pink, purple or lilac and have butterflies on it. The backing paper was from Crafters Companion's "Flower Fairies Friends" CDROM's, I choose the Lavender disc. The image is also Lavender and is a stamped image, watercoloured with Cosmic Shimmers. The glittered backing mount and the glittered butterflies have been cut from glitter card and Spellbinders die cuts put through my Cuttlebug. Ribbon from my stash. It is an 8 x 8 card wrap in lilac tissue with a nice bow.

This is for a Wedding card order I had and is one of five I made for her to choose as she has two weddings to go to. This is from Joanna Sheen's Victorian Romance and both the backing paper and the image are from this very useful CDROM. It is again an 8 x 8 card and it was wrapped in pink tissue with a nice bow.

This card is an A5 card for the same order. The decoupaged image is from Joanna Sheen's "Heavenly Cards". The backing paper is from my stash and has little hearts all over it. Ribbon from stash. The envelope is a pearl gold one.

This card is another 8 x 8 card wrapped in blue tissue with a nice bow. The backing paper and decoupaged image is from Joanna Sheen's "Eastern Treasures" CDROM. The tassel is also from Joanna Sheen.

This a A5 card and the backing paper is from Joanna Sheen's "Victorian Romance" CDROM but the image is one I found on google and I have used before. Flower spray is also from Joanna Sheen.

This 8 x 8 card was originally made for the 21st order as a second choice but the other one was chosen. I hadn't adhered the greeting so it could be used for something else if not chosen. The backing paper and image are from Joanna Sheen's "The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady" CDROM. All mounted on to silver mirri board. Again wrapped in pink tissue with a nice bow.

All the above cards have been made by using "Stardream" double sided pearl card also bought from Joanna Sheen.

5 More Cute Baby Cards - Ah!!!!!!

The two cards above have been made by using "Popcorn the Bear" CDROM from Crafter's Companion. The toppers and backing paper have been printed from this CDROM. It is a three disc set and I have used the birthday one. I have used my Cuttlebug along with Spellbinders Nesties to make the mounts. The baby boy one is decoupaged. Both have been glittered in areas and bows are from my stash.

This baby girl card above has been made by printing the backing paper from Joanna Sheen's "Baby Love" CDROM. The stamp used is from Penny Black called "Baby Hammock" 2073J Mararet Sherry Collection. The image has been watercoloured with a mixture of Cosmic Shimmers and Twinkling H20's.

The above two cards are from Joanna Sheen's "Baby Love" CDROM. Both the toppers and backing paper have been printed from it. The baby boy card backing paper and toppers have been mounted on to silver mirri card. The baby girl additional bib and pram toppers and bows are from my stash.

Thank you for looking today and I will carry on making for the special event that is happening at the nail studio where I sell my cards. The problem is half of them will not be sold as I have had to make both boy and girl. She can only have one bless her. Baby due 14th November.

This one has been stamped with a clear stamp from Sarah Kay and is called

"Can I tell you a Secret?" It has been watercoloured with watercolour pencils from

W.H. Smith. I have used my Cuttlebug with different Spellbinders templates to produce the mount. The backing is from Brenda Walton's 108 12x12 printed paper pad from K & Company. The ribbon is from my stash.

I am just about getting back into the swing of things after my visit to France I hope you are all well and the Autumn blue's haven't set in yet.
